世界上是没有什么可以衡量快乐,如果有的话,我在斯里兰卡的旅行一定超越了所有的衡量标准 —Maggie带你飞

这次旅行也在我的脑海里久久回荡。对于那些不太了解斯里兰卡的小伙伴,我和大家介绍一下南海岸和西南海岸的情况。
There is no way to measure bliss. If there is one, I must have surely surpassed all it’s scales during my stay in Sri Lanka. And guess what? It still kept getting better and better.
南海岸是蜿蜒蔓延的斯里兰卡阳光沙滩,在某些程度上,这是此次斯里兰卡旅行中最值得回味的旅程。因为在这里,人们都能找到自己喜欢的体验,例如美丽的沙滩,殖民时期的城镇风貌,高壮的渔夫,奇妙的野生动物园,处处都有佛祠佛庙。哦!从奢华沙滩酒店到殖民时期的别墅,都是很吸引人的选择。
The south coast of Sri Lanka is basically a long stretched arc of sun kissed beaches. In many ways, it is amongst the most rewarding experiences in Sri Lanka. I say that, because there is something here for all kinds of people. There are the gorgeous beaches, colonial townscapes, stilt fishermen, superb wildlife parks, Buddhist shrines and temples aplenty. Oh and not to mention the island’s most alluring selection of places to stay, from luxurious beach hotelsto atmospheric colonial-era villas.

既然我的斯里兰卡好姐妹是身心灵旅行的专家,我的住所和水疗都安排在了Bentota泰姬薇薇塔度假酒店。这座酒店坐落在一座翠绿的山顶,面朝着印度洋。这座沙滩边的圣地洋溢着斯里兰卡的好客之情。
Bentota位于科伦坡以南62千米以外,是一座海岸城市,因黄金沙滩而闻名。然而,我觉得这座城市迷人的地方却在于它田园间那慵懒闲散的气氛。无数的村庄在棕榈树荫下静静地“躺着”,这里生活的脚步闲情逸致却又令人着迷。
I was in the hands of my expert friends at Ayurvatraveller. My stay and spa treatments were booked at the most delightfully located resort Vivanta by Taj in Bentota. The hotel lies over a lush hill that faces the Indian ocean. It is a charming beach side resort with hospitality that best reflects the spirit of Sri Lanka. As for Bentota,it is a coastal town located about 62 kms south of Colombo and is well known for it’s golden beaches.
However, I feel much of the region’s charm lies in its somnolent and quintessentially rural atmosphere. Innumerable sleepy villages nestled in the shade of toppling palm trees, and the pace of life is unashamedly indolent.

我到达Vivanta by Taj的时候已经是傍晚,在戴上了他们赠与我的芬芳花环之后,我踏进了那枝形吊灯装饰着的豪华大厅,雄伟的建筑让我如痴如醉,而当缓过神来的时候,我已经在小啜着鹅莓和百香果配制的饮料了。
I arrived at Vivanta by Taj in the middle of the afternoon. I was welcomed with a flower garland that smelled heavenly. Right when I step into the marvelous high walled lobby with chandeliers, the grandiose hits my senses with a gush of fresh air. Within moments I find myself at ease sipping the welcome drink that tastes of Gooseberry and passion fruit.
我的房间有一个独立的走廊,走进便能看到那美丽的海洋。我深深的呼吸了一口新鲜空气,点了一些美味的食物,印度大厨的手艺真是让我折服,他能记住我的口味和喜好,为我做出绝妙大餐。现在,回想过去,这儿的食物算是我在斯里兰卡之行中品过最好的美食了。我觉得自己真的很幸运,每次旅行都能发现新的美食,刺激着我的味蕾。哦!用“好吃到舔手指”这样的描述再也确切不过了!
My room was extremely spacious that I almost considered doing my morning walks in there.There isn’t a thing it lacked or a thing I could possibly think of adding to the room. It shows a lot of thought put in every single furnishing provided.I had a private gallery that opened to the glorious views of the occean. I took to relaxing a while and ordered some amazing food in the room.
The Indian chefs here can do wonders with your food. The chef keeping in mind my tastes and preferences prepared me a huge meal with a bit of everything I mentioned liking. Now when I look back, I can easily say that the food here was by far the best during my whole Sri Lanka trip. While I was lucky that every place I ate, the food pleased me a lot but here it was a step above everywhere else. “Fingerlicking food” would be the right expression!

接下来,我计划去见我的医生Padmanabh。他会对我的体质进行细致的分析,为我的水疗定制不同疗法。因为不同地区的水疗不尽相同。在这里,我将体验传统的阿育吠陀式水疗。这勾起了去年去印度第一次旅行的回忆, 这也是我在6个月再度踏访印度的原因之一吧。
Next, I was planned to see my physician Dr. Padmanabh who would analyse my well being and design a spa treatment. Different places have different approaches to Spa. Here I was about to experience a very traditional form of ayurvedic treatment. A taste of which I had last year during my first trip to India. And is greatly the reason behind two trips to India within a span of 6 months.

在JIVA 水疗就像是找到了属于我的绿洲,这次水疗能够让我的感官都变得十分和谐,水疗的关键就在于空间和氛围的协调,这两点对于我的评判标准来说十分重要,医生热情的接待了我,他带我走进他的办公室之后,我们详聊了很久。在这次的旅程中,这些点点滴滴都为这次旅程打下了基础。
The JIVA spa at Vivanta by Taj is like your own private oasis. It is designed in such a way that your senses are harmonized even as you make your way past the greenery.
Spa is a lot about the space and ambience. This one scores high on my list. I was warmly greeted by the doctor. And introduced to more smiling faces and wonderful people who are a part of the spa. This place was full of amazing people right from the person who served my food to the general manager who was very humble and kind by taking time to make a nice long conversation with me. I think all these little things add up to such a finer experience for a guest.

和Padmanabh医生的聊天让我更加了解我的身体,在聊天过程中,他对我的生活方式,食物的选择,睡眠的模式,家庭医疗史,我的喜好和厌恶,我的身心状态等等都做了评估这让我在早上就被安排进行了一次瑜伽,还特别安排大厨为我准备属于我的健康食物,重磅的当然是第二天3个小时的阿育吠陀式水疗(下集我会具体告诉你)。同时他也说期间他会用上一些根据我身体和肤质特选的精油还有草药来辅助疗程。
The session with Dr. Padmanabh helped me understand my body and it’s functioning better. During the consultation, my lifestyle, my food habits,sleep pattern, medical history, my likes and dislikes, my state of mind and several other things were evaluated. That led to the doctor prescribing a detailed plan for my well-being that included a yoga session in the morning, healthy food that would suit my requirements more and a three hour long spa treatment for the next day. I was told it will make use of several oils and herbs blended to suit my body and skin type.
更详细的说,我的基本身体架构是这样的:在Ayurveda有三种体质,Vata,Pitta和Kapha。每个人都有两种体质,一种主要体质,另一种为潜在体质。我的就是VATA(火)和Pitta(气)
To explain a bit more, let me tell you about my natural body structure. There are three body types in Ayurveda, the Vata, Pitta and Kapha.Everyone has two features, one dominant and one subordinate feature, mine is VATA (air) + Pitta (fire)
Pad医生给我解释了为什么我会拥有这两种体质,同时他也告诉了我怎么样才能平衡身心,比如我体内的VATA特质应该避免一些类型的食物,因为其实我的身体里本身已经储备了某些特性,他给我的感觉也和我以前见过的医生不同。

Ayurveda这个聚集着古老印度智慧的疗法一直让我保持着新鲜感。医生回答了我的所有问题,他还说Ayurveda主张通过改变饮食,生活形态,思考方式和生活习惯来追求那种可预防的身心健康。

在最后的一个小时里我发现其实他是一个很哲学的人,所以我便想到应该对他做一个采访,通过视频的方式可以给我的朋友,家人,和观众有益的建议,他也欣然答应了。
Dr. Pad, as I referred to him also genuinely offered me several pointers that explained why I was in that category. And what would help achievea balance of the mind and the body.
For example, as VATA I have to avoid certain types of food because my body already contains its benefits. While this was a consultation with a doctor, it seemed very refreshing and unlike any other I’ve had in the past. Ayurveda, amongst the most ancient wisdoms from India has always fascinated me.

And here I was with somebody who had answers to all my questions.I remember the doctor mentioning that Ayurveda focusses on preventive and holistic well-being, by changing our eating, lifestyle, thinking and living habits.
By the end of that hour, I knew that Dr. Padmanabh is a very valuable resource and I asked for an interview the next day to which he politely agreed. My idea was to get some general tips out of him for my friends, family, readers and viewers.

当晚,我在落日的余晖下在海滩漫步。对于新学到的一些知识我感到十分开心。晚餐嘛,其实我思考了很久,因为这里有4家室内餐馆,每一家都有不同的口味和风格,然而,在这些餐馆的诱惑下,我还是选择去了一家东方餐馆,大厨是这里唯一的中国人。你一定得去看看在视频中我对他做的采访。这家餐厅是特别为了那些中国美食爱好者而建的,同时,那些思念中国美食的游客也能在这里能得到慰藉。夜晚,我在露台上做了冥想,帮助我更快进入了梦乡。
I used the rest of the evening to explore the gorgeous property of the hotel. And take a walk by the beach during the sunset. I was quite enjoying my newly acquired habits. Dinner, took a bit of thinking because they have more than 4 in-house restaurants. Each catering to a different taste and charmingly done.
While, all of them seemed equally tempting. I was keen on trying their oriental restaurant which had a chef from the mainland. You might get to see a short interview with him on my videos.Here the idea of the hotel behind this restaurant was to ensure that the Chinese food lovers get a taste of some authentic food.
While, the Chinese travelers who (if) miss food from back home. This would be where they would seek solace. The dinner and the very friendly chef were both impressive. After I got back to my room, I took some more hanging out by my balcony and meditating before I called it a night.
